Abstract A method is proposed to analyze the modal damping in mistuned bladed-disk with root joints using large finite element models and detailed description of frictional interactions at contact interfaces. The influence mistuning on dissipated energy for different blades a factors vibration levels any family modes can be investigated. due microslip are simulated by multitude surface-to-surface elements modeling friction joints. analysis performed time domain, an original reduction developed obtain results acceptable computational times. model allows calculation assembly evaluation joint each individual blade small parts bladed disk sectors. dependency factor mode shapes, engine-order excitation numbers, nodal diameter amplitudes studied distributions amplitude investigated realistic model.
